Zudem nutzte man erstmals Schiebetüren, die bis heute ihre Verwendung in Postfahrzeugen gefunden haben. Der Fridolin war so erfolgreich auf deutschen Straßen unterwegs, das die Schweizer Post sich ebenfalls über 1.000 Modelle bestellte.
Heute existieren leider nur noch wenige Fridolins. Weltweit wird ihre Zahl auf rund 200 geschätzt, wovon allein 40 in Deutschland unterwegs sind.
